Patchcors TYPE Y support some important functions in optical networks as followings:

• splitting or combining optical signals (especially in CaTV networks) (splitter 1x2 – different ratio available)
• creating protection between the client port of two transponders (splitter 1x2 – different ratio available)
• creating additional optical channel in single fiber (splitter 1x2  WDM  SM 1310/1550; MM 850/1300nm)
• bidirectional transmition on single fiber onto one wavelength (optical circulators)
• monitoring port for Optical Spectrum Analiser (-20dB)
